A few weeks back, I was introduced to Paperclipping Roundtable. Paperclipping Roundtable is a podcast that is part of the Paperclipping website. Paperclipping has a wealth of video tutorials on scrapbooking, both free and for members. Paperclipping Live! is a live show that streams over the internet where the host can interact with the audience. Both of these mediums are hosted by Noell Hyman, the mastermind behind the Paperclipping website. The website also has a newsletter and a community which is clearly active. For now, though, let’s get back to PRT (Paperclipping Round Table).
Like I said earlier, Paperclipping Roundtable is a podcast that you can listen to on the site, or subscribe to in iTunes. Now, I’ll admit, the first time I went to listen to PRT, I was skeptical because Paperclipping seemed to be a paper scrapbooking driven site. What I quickly learned is that PRT is not as much about “how to paper scrapbook” but more a discussion about the ideas behind scrapbooking, in any format. PRT is co-hosted by Noell Hyman and Nancy Nally, and then features a variety of guests who talk with them about the topic of that episode. Past guests have included Ali Edwards, Jessica Sprague, and Steph from The Daily Digi.
What I have really liked about PRT is the fact that it usually doesn’t focus on the “logistical” side of scrapbooking. I enjoy listening to people’s thoughts about the reasons behind scrapbooking, more of the ideas behind scrapbooking. I also enjoy the discussion about what the industry is facing, and how the industry is growing. All of this, on top of the fact that the members of the roundtable are always entertaining, make PRT an enjoyable listen.
So why should you listen? Well besides the fact that it’s fun and entertaining, PRT gives us digi folk something that often lacks in our relationships. With PRT, you are able to listen to people actually discuss topics about scrapbooking. We can respond to each other in forums, and comment on blog posts, but being able to discuss something with each other is beyond our means. Not to mention, the people who are on the show are some of the foremost people in the industry! PRT is a great opportunity to listen to smart people have smart discussions about the scrapbooking industry. I’ve even been mentioned on it! Well, a tweet I did was mentioned….but still, I knew it was me!

Editing to add: There is a CRAZY great announcement in PRT #21….you HAVE to hear it.
