Change is never easy. I knew that when I made the decision two weeks ago to leave Sir Scrapalot Designs behind. I had been struggling with the decision for some time, but I actually tendered my resignation on a whim. I had been thinking about it the night before, went to bed, and woke up to write the letter the next morning. I sent it before I could rethink it. Right after I sent it, I had a brief moment of panic that I had made a mistake. I can tell you that I haven’t felt that way since. I followed my heart, and I am confident that it’s leading me in the right direction.
So, what is that direction? A lot of people have been wondering what would be next. Two weeks ago, I wasn’t completely sure. You know how they say “when one door closes, another one opens”? I have been lucky enough to have many doors open since I closed the door on Sir Scrapalot Designs. First and foremost, I am going to be scrapping. The creativity that goes into creating a page is what is making my heart happy right now, so I’m going with it. I’ve been lucky enough to join the teams of two great designers: Meghan Mullens (Wild Dandelion Designs) and Amanda Heimann. I look forward to creating layouts with their awesome designs.
I am also happy to announce that I’ll be joining the team at The Daily Digi. I’ve secretly wanted this for some time now, and was thrilled when Steph approached me to come on as part of the team. You can look forward to me creating layouts for them, as well as some guest posting and maybe a few other fun things. I’ll also be guest posting at the Funky Playground Designs, sharing my tips and techniques for scrapbooking. I will continue my monthly posts on time management at Simple Scrapper, too.
In addition to scrapping more, I will be moving towards creating a marriage between scrapbooking and my other true love – teaching. After the experience I had as a teacher at Masterful Scrapbook Design, I knew that bringing scrapbooking and teaching together was the direction I needed to go in. Look for me to be working on some new tutorials, and I currently am in the beginning stages of writing an ebook about Marketing with Social Media for the Digi Designer. There are also some projects that are just getting off the ground, and once I know they are well on their way, I’ll share them with you.
As for blogging, look for more of the same. The posts that I’ve come to love writing about scrapbooking, time management, and social media are the ones that my readers are loving too. In some ways, the content won’t change, it will just get better. I believe that learning never ends, and it’s that belief that will be guiding my decisions going forward. I hope we can go on that journey together.
So welcome, it’s a time of change around here. Please take a minute and use the links on the right to subscribe to the blog, “Like” my new fan page, and make sure you are following me on Twitter. I don’t want to leave anyone behind! I’m glad to have you with me.
